Chicago's Inner Ring Suburbs Hot for Luxury Rentals as First Move-Ins Begin at Orland Park’s Newest Transit-Oriented Development

CHICAGO, IL - Chicago-based REVA Development Partners has announced the first move-ins at The Residences of Orland Park Crossing, a 231-unit transit-oriented development in south-suburban Orland Park, Ill.

Located at 143rd Street and LaGrange Road, the apartment community is adjacent to the Orland Park Crossing retail center and across the street from Orland Park’s Main Street Triangle development. The Main Street Triangle development is part of a large-scale public-private collaboration with residential and retail partners. It includes plans for restaurants as well as an adjacent 120,000-square-foot University of Chicago medical office facility.

One of only two luxury rental communities built in Orland Park in several decades, the Residences of Orland Park Crossing features four mid-rise elevator buildings, each offering 42 apartment flats with one-bedroom/one-bath, one-bedroom-plus-den/one-bath and two-bedroom/two-bath options. There are also 38 two-story rowhomes, each with three bedrooms and 2½ baths; and 25 three-story townhomes offering two- and three-bedroom floor plans, each with 2½ baths. Units range in size from approximately 700 to 1,370 square feet for apartment flats and 1,500 to 2,000 square feet for the rowhomes and townhomes. Residents of the apartment flats have access to attached garage parking, while an attached, two-car garage comes with each townhome and rowhome.

“There has been a lot of excitement about The Residences of Orland Park Crossing since we broke ground late in 2014,” says Matt Nix, principal of REVA Development Partners. “While the high-end finishes and flexibility of rental living are important considerations, the transit-oriented location is very attractive for area renters as is the walkability factor.” Easy access to the 143rd Street Metra station via a newly constructed pedestrian bridge is a big draw for south suburban renters who work in Chicago, Nix added. He also noted over 40 units have been leased since opening in late April with no sign of slowing down, solid proof of the very strong interest in this community.

With proximity to a variety of retail and restaurant options, The Residences of Orland Park Crossing provides a truly walkable lifestyle experience. The Orland Park Crossing retail center features national retailers such as Ann Taylor, Soma and White House Black Market, as well as restaurants such as PF Changs, Granite City Brewery, Panera Bread and Starbucks. A new Mariano’s Fresh Market, neighboring The Residences at Orland Park Crossing, has been a welcome addition to the town center area.

REVA’s focus on lifestyle is embodied by the various amenities available at The Residences of Orland Park Crossing. An approximately 7,000-square-foot clubhouse features a fitness center, gaming/theater room, club room, demonstration kitchen, business center and management offices. Residents also have access to an outdoor swimming pool, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, bocce ball court, and landscaped seating areas with walking paths.

“There is no doubt that the combination of amenities, convenience and luxury interior finishes makes The Residences of Orland Park Crossing the go-to solution for apartment hunters in south suburban Chicago,” said Nix. “Renters who enjoy the convenience of an urban lifestyle but prefer the serenity of a suburban setting finally have a great option in this inner-ring suburb.”
