When it comes to powerhouse information sources, who are the big dawgs on campus? There are a few at the top of the list that provide quality information.
NAREIT. The National Association of Real Estate Trust. NAREIT defines within their reporting segregates multifamily assets by quality type. NAREIT®, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts®, is the worldwide representative voice for REITs and publicly traded real estate companies with an interest in U.S. real estate and capital markets. NAREIT's members are REITs and other businesses throughout the world that own, operate, and finance income-producing real estate, as well as those firms and individuals who advise, study, and service those businesses
REIT.com. For industry Data & Performance REIT.com provides investors and real estate professionals with a library of current and historical data, including performance returns for the U.S. and global markets, dividend yields, market capitalization, leverage ratios, and much more.
IREM. Institute of Real Estate Management. The property management mega-site offers more than just information on professional designations. IREM is an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors.
Units Magazine. A publication featuring news and news makers in the multifamily housing industry. Features include interviews of members and topical articles about residential property management and ownership.
Multifamily Executive. Provides apartment executives with apartment and condo industry news, multifamily design ideas and apartment technology information.
Pension Real Estate Association. The Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) is a non-profit trade association for the global institutional real estate investment industry. To access current research reports, select the Research and Market Information tab. Then select Real Estate Research Institute.
For those with access to the following, these companies provide periodic reports to their private clients about institutional real estate assets: Blackrock; Bessimer Trust; Trust Company of the West; Goldman Sachs.
