ista North America Receives Tech Choice Award
ALPHARETTA, GA - ista North America, the global leader in resident billing and Utility Expense Management(tm), was named Top Tech Choice Award Winner by readers of MultiHousing News magazine. The Tech Choice Award is announced in the magazine's August 2008 issue and on their website. Each year MultiHousing News asks its subscribers to name the providers that represent the leading edge in serving the multifamily industry, and once again, ista North America was named as a leader in Utility Management because of its committment to advanced technologies and superior client service.

According to Kernie Brashier, EVP of ista North America's Multifamily Solutions Group, "We are honored to be chosen again by the readers of MultiHousing News for the prestigious Tech Choice Award. We are using technology to automate utility billing and Utility Expense Management, and to deliver better, faster, and more sophisticated services to our clients every day. I'm excited about what we have done this year, and even more excited about the new developments on the horizon. I look forward to winning again in 2009!"

When Vice President of Product Development Vito Ciavarelli joined ista earlier this year, it was clear that his advanced technological experience would revolutionize ista's operations. Vito, who literally wrote the book on the Microsoft .net platform ("Special Edition: Using HTML 4.0 (Fifth Edition)"), immediately set out to create the technological infrastructure needed to consistently provide 100% accurate and timely billing.

"The process for paying bills has been virtually unchanged for several decades - we recognize that the process will significantly benefit from sophisticated technologies, including Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and advanced reporting and analysis made possible through EnergyCAP," said Vito. Vito is eager to take a successful product into the next millennium.

ista recently purchased EnergyCAP software. With the EnergyCAP technology, clients benefit from a variety of analysis reports that can be used to accurately forecast and budget utility costs. ista's Premier Clients will be fully transitioned to EnergyCAP by September, with all clients to follow shortly thereafter.

EnergyCAP will interface with ista's web platform to provide online presentment of utility data including cost, consumption, benchmarking, images of scanned bills, reports, and more. EnergyCAP will be an important part of ista's existing UEM offering, which includes Vacant Cost Recovery; Vacant Cost Management; Database Development; Bill Aggregation; Utility Bill Processing; Late Fee Guarantee; Bill Auditing; and Online Reporting and Analysis.
