WASHINGTON, DC –The National Multi Housing Council today announced the formation of a new Emerging Leaders program to help cultivate future leaders in the apartment sector.
The program will have two components. First it will offer national and regional networking events that allow the industry’s best and brightest to interact with their peers. Second, it will provide forums where participants can meet and learn from top industry leaders who share their insight, lessons learned and steps taken to achieve their success.
The initiative will be open to employees from NMHC member firms who are under 40 and have at least five years of industry experience. The group’s inaugural event, a fireside chat with an industry leader followed by a reception, will be held September 14 in Washington, DC.
“Over the years I have watched the apartment industry evolve from a family dominated business to a more corporate-based industry,” said NMHC’s President Doug Bibby in launching the new initiative. “That change has led to many positive developments for investors and residents alike, but it has also created challenges. One of those challenges is cultivating future leaders in a rapidly changing environment.”
“This program has been one of my top priorities as NMHC Chairman,” said Peter Donovan, NMHC Chairman. “We are privileged to have a group of some of the industry’s most dynamic up-and-coming leaders spearheading the initiative.”
The Emerging Leaders activities will be directed by a 16-person Emerging Leaders Committee. They are as follows.
