LOS ANGELES, CA - The first tenants are moving into their new homes this week at the bw, the first new mid-rise apartment project to be built in the Brentwood area in a decade. The 78-unit bw, located at the intersection of Barrington and Wilshire, is ushering in a new standard of luxury living on Los Angeles’ Westside, transforming this intersection into a vibrant new community with modern residences, an iconic glass façade, zen rooftop garden and a ground-floor Röckenwagner Café, operated by local chef Hans Röckenwagner.
“The bw fronts Wilshire Boulevard and is just a few yards from the MTA Rapid Bus – it is a living, breathing example of transit-oriented development that is extremely rare on the Westside.”
The bw offers a unique living experience aimed at meeting the needs of busy executives, professionals, bi-coastal residents and short-term residents/travelers. In addition to flexible leasing options that range from one-month contracts to year-long leases, the bw features hotel-like amenities including complimentary valet, in-home food delivery from Röckenwagner Café, and an on-site concierge who can make arrangements for maid and car service, dinner reservations and grocery delivery. Residents can also arrange for turnkey furnishing for a move-in ready home.
“The Westside is one of the city’s most jobs-rich areas, and we recognized the need for new housing that locates employees closer to where they work with easy access to transportation,” said Ken Kahan, President and CEO of bw developer California Landmark Group. “There is also a growing segment of local professionals who split their time in Los Angeles and the East Coast. They need a flexible living situation that offers the amenities and the conveniences of a hotel, but also the comforts of home, and the bw is well-situated to cater to those professionals who work throughout the Westside.”
Highly acclaimed local chef and restaurant owner Hans Röckenwagner is expanding his café concept to the bw. Röckenwagner Café is slated to open on November 15 and, like its sister restaurant 3 Square Café in Venice, Röckenwagner Café will be a casual, contemporary neighborhood eatery. While Röckenwagner Café is only an elevator ride away for bw residents, renters won’t need to step outside their front doors to enjoy the restaurant’s offerings. Tenants will have the option of ordering room service, with all food items from the Röckenwagner Café menu available for delivery to their front door.
“The bw is a fantastic new project for the Westside that will enable people to live in close proximity to basic services, employment centers and public transportation,” said Kahan. “The bw fronts Wilshire Boulevard and is just a few yards from the MTA Rapid Bus – it is a living, breathing example of transit-oriented development that is extremely rare on the Westside.”
Apartments range in size from 700-square-foot one-bedroom units to 1,500-square-foot penthouses that offer soaring 20-foot ceilings and sweeping city views. All homes feature beautiful designer finishes, including Caesar stone countertops, Carerra marble kitchens and baths and designer lighting, along with high-end appliances, in-home washer and dryers and large windows. Community amenities at the bw are unrivaled on the Westside. Residents have access to a rooftop sky lounge with a spa, fire pit and grilling pavilion; an interactive lobby lounge with a communal kitchen; business center; and state-of-the-art cardio and weight studio.
