MINNEAPOLIS, MN - The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has announced Villa at Terracina Grand the Silver award recipient of the 2016 NAHB Best of 55+ Housing Awards Competition in Las Vegas for the Assisted Living or Special Needs Community category.
The NAHB 55+ Housing Industry Council Best of 55+ Housing Awards are the industry's only national awards program honoring excellence in building, design, marketing and lifestyles in housing for boomers and beyond. The industry and the media view the awards as a showcase for innovation, emerging trends and quality housing for a mature demographic.
"We take tremendous pride in our compassionate care and comprehensive healing arts programming, and we are also committed to exceptional design," says Marthe Lawrence, B.S., RN, executive director of Villa at Terracina Grand. "One of the biggest building trends in senior housing today is higher-quality environments such as ours, and we are so proud to be recognized for our efforts in this prestigious way."
Villa at Terracina Grand, which is managed by The Goodman Group, was selected from among a total of four finalists. The Goodman Group has a longstanding commitment to the pursuit of resident-centered design. Visionary leader John Goodman recognizes that our communities play a key role in the wellbeing of residents and employees.
Award recipients were selected by the jury panel comprised of 12 industry experts who specialize in the areas of active adult, service-enriched and marketing for the 55+ housing industry. The award was presented on January 19 at the Best of 55+ Housing Award Gala in Las Vegas as part of the International Builders Show.
"We continue to see the 55+ market lead the housing industry in both innovation and sales performance," said Tim McCarthy, chairman of NAHB's 55+ Housing Industry Council and managing partner of Traditions of America in Radnor, Pa. "The judges saw wonderful examples of what the mature buyer and renter is looking for, including innovative floor plans, universal design skillfully integrated into the home, communities with beautiful lifestyle amenities and homes located close to local shops, restaurants and parks."
