Interra Realty Continues Growth with Promotion of Lucas Fryman to Managing Partner and Harrison Pinkus to Director

CHICAGO, IL - Interra Realty, a Chicago-based commercial real estate investment services firm, today announced the promotions of Lucas Fryman from director to managing partner and Harrison Pinkus from associate to director.

Fryman, who joined Interra as an associate in 2016 and most recently served as director, is a leading multifamily investment sales broker in Chicago, closing 32 multifamily transactions valued at $42 million in 2019 alone. While his transactional work spans the city, Fryman specializes in South and West Side submarkets, including South Shore, Washington Park, Woodlawn, Austin and Kenwood.

“Our approach with new brokers is to give them a lot of exposure and opportunity so they can carve out their own niche – at Interra and within the broader market,” said David Goss, co-founder and managing principal of Interra. “Lucas has done an outstanding job in this environment, distinguishing himself with his high level of achievement early in his career. Over the years, he has earned the trust and respect of his clients and colleagues because of his commitment to understanding his clients’ needs and working hand-in-hand with them to accomplish their goals. It’s been a privilege to watch him grow as Interra grows, and we look forward to seeing what he does next.”

Recent deals brokered by Fryman include the $16.8 million sale of two multifamily properties in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood: Shorewind Towers, a 178-unit rental community at 7000 South Shore Drive, and Shorewind Court, a 60-unit property nearby at 6951 S. Oglesby Ave. Brokered by Fryman and Interra Senior Managing Partner Joe Smazal, the transaction was the largest by dollar amount and unit count in the submarket since 2009, according to CoStar. Last year, Fryman was also involved in the $7.8 million sale of a 14-building affordable housing portfolio on Chicago’s South and West sides, among other deals.

In addition to his transactional work, Fryman also helps mentor newer members of the Interra team. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Iowa and is active in local real estate organizations including the Lincoln Park Builders, Southside Builders Association and South Side Community Investors Association.

Since joining Interra in 2018, Pinkus has participated in five multifamily sales totaling $14.8 million. His recent deals include the $5.6 million sale of 4740-48 South Greenwood Ave., a four-story, 31-unit rental community in Chicago’s Kenwood neighborhood, and the $8.2 million sale of 820-26 W. Cuyler Ave., a 43-unit rental community in Chicago’s Buena Park neighborhood, both of which were brokered with Smazal. The Greenwood deal represented the highest per-unit price in the submarket in 10 years, while the Buena Park deal was one of the largest multifamily transactions in that neighborhood in the previous two years.

“In short order, Harrison has mastered the skills necessary to be a successful multifamily broker,” said Goss. “His smooth transition from his former jobs in sales and office leasing to multifamily investment sales was the result of his commitment to learning a new business and employing his skills to gain the confidence and trust of his clients. He is a gifted salesperson who is always attentive to customers, and he exemplifies our hard-working, entrepreneurial approach.”

Pinkus earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Indiana University Bloomington. He is a member of the Young Office Brokers Association (YOBA) and of Irish Angels, which seeks high-potential startups for financing. He also is an instructor with Victory Lap professional training and coaching in Chicago.
