The Cooper Recognized in The NAHB Multifamily Pillars of The Industry Awards as Best Low-Rise Apartment Community Finalist

FORT WORTH, TX - The Cooper, an expansive multifamily development located in the Near Southside neighborhood of Fort Worth’s medical district, was honored in The National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) prestigious ‘Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Awards.’ Built by KWA Construction, the $65-million, five-story community was recognized as a finalist in the ‘Best Low-Rise Apartment Community’ category and is one of the largest developments of its kind in the area.

“We knew that The Cooper’s sophisticated design and high-class amenities set it apart as one of the best in the industry, but to have it recognized by NAHB as a finalist in these distinguished awards cements the value we packed into its construction,” said Brian Webster, President of KWA Construction. “Our goal from the start with The Cooper was to deliver quality details and build luxury amenities that are unrivaled in the area and this recognition solidifies KWA’s commitment to that purpose.”

Developed by Lang Partners, a multifamily real estate development firm, and designed by the award-winning multi-disciplinary design firm GFF, The Cooper apartments encompass two separate city blocks between West Rosedale and West Oleander streets and are connected via an intricately-designed sky-bridge over Washington Avenue. Offering 390 units packed with hotel-inspired amenities, all residences include expansive glass windows, wood plank-style flooring, spacious 10-12-foot ceilings, large patios or balconies, designer lighting, spacious storage pantries and closets, keyless entry system and direct-to-door dry cleaning services. Bathrooms include dual sink vanities, deep soaking tubs and separate walk-in glass showers in select units. Chef-inspired kitchens feature slate steel kitchen appliances, luxurious granite countertops, microwave, self-cleaning oven, dishwasher, double stainless steel sinks and beverage refrigerators in select units.

Community features found at The Cooper include a first-of-its-kind hospitality bar, Craftwork at The Cooper, which is open to both residents and the general public. Derived from Fort Worth’s Craftwork Coffee Co., the on-site amenity provides local specialty coffee, craft beer, select wines, light grab-and-go food and poolside beverage service to The Cooper residents. Other community amenities include a coworking lounge with private conference rooms, a business center with scanner, copier and computer conveniences, Fetch Package delivery and Tide lockers. A media center with HD TVs, satellite radio and billiards as well as a separate fitness center and yoga studio provide more community space. In addition, The Cooper provides a resort-style zero-edge pool with lounging shelf, sundeck and personal towel service. Outdoor barbeque areas with grills and fire pits, a leash-free pet park, and a “paw spa” wash area offer additional outdoor luxury for guests and their pets.

NAHB’s ‘Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Awards’ highlight creative development concepts, innovative financing strategies, great design and superior management and marketing in the apartment and condo marketplace. The Pillars awards are held in high esteem by top-level multifamily development companies, management firms and experts in the field. The annual competition is judged by a jury of knowledgeable peers, each having a proven record of success in various facets of the multifamily industry.
