ROCO Real Estate Launches Propoerty Management Division with Christopher Reilly as Chief Executive

Bloomfield Hills, MI – ROCO Real Estate, a privately held multifamily real estate investment firm headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, MI, announced the launch of its own property management division. ROCO has hired Christopher Reilly, formerly the President of Wingate Management Company, to head this new venture.

The management group will run the day-to-day operations of ROCO Real Estate’s rapidly expanding multifamily portfolio, which ended 2015 with 78 properties consisting of 14,400 apartment units across ten states. The new division is expected to employ around 500 multifamily management professionals.

Since ROCO Real Estate’s inception in 2012, the firm has partnered with various third party management firms. In announcing the launch of the property management division, ROCO Real Estate Principal David Colman praised ROCO’s previous third party management partners. “We feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with some of the best real estate management firms. However, we have decided to take over management to control our own destiny. With our current size and our anticipated growth in 2016, we’ve made the strategic decision that now is the time to bring management under our ownership umbrella.”

Prior to joining ROCO, Christopher Reilly oversaw all aspects of the day-to-day operations for Newton, MA based Wingate Properties, including marketing, management, and planning for more than 14,000 market and government-assisted apartment homes across 16 states. Prior to heading Wingate Management, Christopher held the position of Senior Vice President at Equity Residential, where he oversaw all phases of property management operations for a portfolio exceeding 34,000 units and 140 properties. Earlier in his career, Christopher also held the position of Regional Vice President at Winn Communities. He earned his BS from the College of the Holy Cross in 1985. Christopher will operate out of ROCO Real Estate’s Bloomfield Hills, MI headquarters and will report directly to ROCO’s ownership team.

“Chris’ decades of executive-level real estate management experience, long track record of success, and deep industry knowledge and relationships provides the perfect foundation to grow a world-class management firm,” David Colman noted.
